My most significant role as a therapist is to help you, your family, and/or your children create new perceptions, to build self-esteem, and to provide guidance towards growth, insight and gratification. The road may not always be clear or easy to follow but there are sure to be positive nuggets along the way. My role is to help my clients identify those nuggets.
Psychotherapy involves collaboration between the client and the therapist, with the goal of identifying and building upon strengths. I use humor, and combine my education and experiences with the values and uniqueness that you bring to therapy to accomplish these goals. I also strive to use your particular strengths and those of your co-parent to help structure the most beneficial outcomes for your children and families, not just today but for the future. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, families and adults. I also enjoy providing Co-Parenting Counseling, Parent Coordination, Reunification Therapy, and Court-Ordered Child Custody Evaluations.
My specific expertise has been in child sexual abuse and trauma. I have over 20 years of experience conducting forensic interviews and evaluations, providing psychotherapy and training, and testifying as an expert witness in multiple courts across Metro Atlanta and beyond in these areas. I am also able to provide consultation to attorneys in civil and criminal cases. My additional expertise in high-conflict divorce makes me highly qualified to consult with, evaluate, and testify in cases involving high-conflict families and allegations of abuse. I am a member of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC), the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (APSAC), the Georgia Psychological Association (GPA), and the American Psychological Association (APA).
People sometimes ask for my thoughts on varied topics, so I occasionally publicize them on Twitter! Please feel free to follow me.
Fear less, hope more, eat less, chew more, whine less, breathe more, talk less, say more, hate less, love more, and good things will be yours.
